Local Area Fish Fries Were a Huge Success the First Week of Lent

February 24, 2021

FISH AND SHRIMP FRY – The Knights of Columbus at Old Mines held a drive through fish fry for dinner on Friday, Feb. 19th. The cook shack was hopping with activity and the fish and shrimp were moving quickly out the door. The guys cooked and the folks in the Hall assembled the dinners for drive through pick up. Everything looked good and the traffic was steady on Friday afternoon. (And, the shrimp was delicious!)

TIS THE SEASON – With the beginning of Lent begins the annual fish fries and dinners that go along with the season. The St. James Catholic Church Knights of Columbus hosted a drive through fish fry for lunch on Friday, Feb. 19th. The guys involved reported a good response for the lunch and being busy from the start at 11 a.m. at the cook shed behind the Catholic Church on North Missouri. The Church’s evening fish dinners begin this week and alternate with the Old Mines K.C.’s.
