FEMA GRANT, SAFE BUILDING STARTED AT POTOSI ELEMENTARY

October 02, 2020

FEMA GRANT, SAFE BUILDING STARTED at Potosi Elementary School on Highway P. Brockmiller Construction has done the excavating and poured footings for a pre-cast concrete building that will be constructed after the first of the year, 2021. The project is partially funded by a FEMA grant that has supported numerous school districts across Missouri with similar projects. The ‘safe room’ principle is to provide school districts with alternatives to keep students safe during storms. The structure is being constructed in place at the rear of the Elementary with very little loss of playground or parking. The footings shown here are eight feet wide and will hold the precast walls and roof.
