Announcement has been made that Impact Life blood services will again conduct the annual Nancy Higginbotham Memorial Blood Drive as the Kickoff for the 73rd annual County Fair.

This year it is being held the Thursday before the Fair opens - Thursday, July 29th, 2021.

The Bloodmobile will again be set up in the Potosi Lions Den, 10367 State Hwy. 185 and presenting donors will receive a Season Pass to attend the Washington County Fair. Hours of operation will be 12:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Appointments may be made online at bloodcenter.org

Summer has started. As the temperature rises, so does the need for blood.

You can restore hope to those needing blood by donating at the blood drive. The drive is being held at the air conditioned Potosi Lions Den.

Giving blood is safe and simple. Sterile needles and supplies are used only once and then safely discarded. The actual donation takes less time than you might think- it only takes about 10 minutes for a skilled technician to complete the blood donation itself.

Donors are asked to bring in proper identification, such as a driver’s license.

Your blood donation can help save as many as three persons lives.

The late Nancy Higginbotham was the wife of long-time Potosi Lions Club and Fair Board Member and Officer John Higginbotham. She was a member of the Potosi Lioness Club for several years and was a partner in business with her husband operating carnival games, midway and rides. Their son, Tim, also is a long-time Potosi Lions Member and Officer.
