Late Ed & Hattie (Cole) Eye Family Held 60th Reunion

June 24, 2021

Potosi – On Sunday, June 13, 2021 the descendants of the late Isaac Edward (Ed) and Hattie Mae (Cole) Eye held their family reunion at the Potosi Lions Club.

Nineteen cousins joined for a catered lunch hosted by Johnny Robinson; the meal was provided by Cindy Merx of Sweet Memories Catering (Potosi). The cousins enjoyed visiting and catching up, looking at old pictures and records in a large scrapbook provided by Joan (Eye) Kissel of St. Louis.

The Ed & Hattie Eye family have been meeting formally on an annual basis since June 1961 in the backyard of Luther & Florence (Eye) Jenkins home, to various parks, to Burnadeen (Jenkins) and the late Lewis Yost home; then Eddie & Doris June Jenkins home, Alva & Nancy Eye and Dale & Brenda’s homes. On their 50th annual year, they voted to hold the reunions every other year, unfortunately they had to skip 2020 due to the pandemic. This year, the members present decided to have another reunion/gathering next year in 2022.

Relatives that attended were: Burnadeen (Jenkins) Yost, Fenton; Shirley (Trask) & Pug Fryman of Potosi; Thelma (Fenstermaker) & Mac Robinson of Caledonia; Frances (Fenstermaker) & Don DeClue of Potosi; Joan (Eye) Kissel of St. Louis; Randy & Glennes Fryman, Potosi; Lisa Cope of St. Louis; Suzanne (Robinston) & Mike Kay of Farmington; Johnny Robinson of Caledonia, Kyle & Jamie Fryman and children Everett, Klaire and Brooklynne of Potosi.
