P.H.S. TRACK SENDS 15 TO STATE McCaul & Jarvis Lead The Pack

The Potosi High School Track Team had a good showing at the State Sectional Meet that was held on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 at Central, Park Hills.

The Trojans placed fifteen athletes in seventeen different events to qualify for the State Meet that will be held this Saturday, May 29th, 2021 in Jefferson City.

The Lady Trojan Athletes include Hallie Portell in the 800m and the 4x800m relay; Chloe Finley in Javelin; Annie McCaul in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and the 200m; Kaydence Gibson in Pole Vault and the 4x800m relay; Celeste Sansegraw in the 3200m and the 4x800m relay; Kalie Thompson in Discus and Alyson Skiles in the 1600m, 3200m and the 4x800m relay.

For the gentlemen, they are lead by Will Jarvis, in three events, 800m, 4x800m relay and the 4x400m relay; Hunter Griffin in the 4x800m and the 4x400m relays; Andy Cain in the 4x800m relay; Jaden Kanan in the 4x800m relay; Gage Mosier in the 4x400m relay; Luke Brabham in the 4x400m relay; Wyatt Valentine in Javelin and Zeke Sisk in the 3200m.

The athletes will be escorted through ‘Downtown Potosi’ on Friday, May 28th at approximately 12:10 p.m. by the Potosi City Police as they head to Jefferson City by bus.

Area residents are invited to wish the athletes ‘Good Luck’ with a send off to the State Meet.

Coach Amanda Politte said, “We’ve got a great bunch of kids and they’ve really become a team and a family. It’s fun to see them push each other and encourage each other. We’ll be represented well at Jeff City.”

Tickets for the State Track Meet can only be purchase online. Potosi will be competing in the Class 3 division. Tickets are $8 plus processing fees. Buy tickets through the MSHSAA website.
