WEBER-RICHARDS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

The winner of the Weber-Richards Scholarship for 2021 is Ryker Walton. He is the son of Tim and Kim Walton, Potosi. Ryker is continuing his education at Mineral Area College with plans on going in to education and coaching. The Weber-Richards Scholarship is given in memory of ‘The Weber Girls’ and Hugh Richards and Neil Richards. Ruby Richards, Dorothy McFarland and Minnie Hale (three of four Weber sisters) all were school teachers. The Independent-Journal, represented by Kris Richards, is happy to continue the tradition in promoting education. Good luck and congrats, Ryker!
