Theresa Coleman

Frances Theresa (Bequette) Coleman, known by all as Theresa, was born June 16, 1924 in Old Mines, a daughter to the late Albert Newton Bequette and Mary Emma Walton Bequette. Theresa departed this life Sunday, February 7, 2021 having reached the age of 96 years, 7 months and 22 days.

On December 30, 1943, Theresa was united in marriage to the late Edward “Bill” Coleman and they were blessed with fifty-four years together. Bill preceded Theresa into Heaven in 1998.

Theresa is survived by her son, Carley Coleman and wife Charlene of Potosi; grandchildren, Sophia (John) Seiffertt, Joni (Jeremy) Barber, Stacey (Jim) LaBudde, Angela Coleman, Darren (Jamie) Coleman, Rodney (Stephanie) Coleman; great grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Emma, Allison, Garrett, Riley, Zachary, Luke, Parker, Mackenzie, Vincent, Jack, Benedict, Dominic, Carlee, Chelsea, Charles Jr., Cameron, Colton; great great grandson, Lincoln; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Coleman; sister, Mary Angela Portell; brothers, Paul Bequette, Norvell Walton, James Victor Walton and grandson, Gregory Seiffertt.

Theresa was a loving mother, wife, sister and genuine friend to all. She always looked her best and sold Avon for many years in addition to making child wellness visits. She was a devoted member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines and helped with many church activities and a member of the St. Ann Sodality. She loved to play cards with her friends and family and always made sure her family was taken care of. She will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched with her love and kindness.

Visitation for Theresa was held Friday, February 12th from 3-8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13th at 10 A.M. at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines with Fr. Tony Dattilo officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at St. Joachim Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Rodney Coleman, Garrett Coleman, Darren Coleman, Mike Portell, Jeremy Barber, Zachary Coleman, Mike Guenther, Joe Coleman, Bradley Coleman and Ed Coleman.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
