Fran Pashia

Fran Pashia, a cherished member of the community, passed away on April 29, 2025 at the age of 82. Born on July 2, 1942, in Old Mines, Fran was known for his kindness, helpfulness, and eagerness to share his knowledge. He built a successful career as a cabinet shop owner for many years, earning the respect and gratitude of all who had the pleasure of working alongside or doing business with him.
Fran's commitment to his community extended well beyond his business. He was a faithful member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, where he contributed to various boards and organizations. His involvement included significant roles with the Pam Dudley Center, the Washington County IDA Board of Directors, and he served as President of the Old Mines Historical Society. Fran was also a devoted supporter of Cross Outreach International, always seeking to uplift and support those around him.
Fran leaves behind a loving family that includes daughters Donna Vassallo, Dena McAnally, and her husband Mark; son David Pashia and his wife Lynne; sisters Mary Catherine Norbut and Theresa Wickerham with her husband Dan; and brothers Paul Pashia with his wife Yvonne, John Pashia, and James Pashia with his wife Mary Beth. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christina, Will and Joe, Luke, Dustin and Bayley, Dylan, Jaden, Ethan, and great-grandchildren Justin, Clarrisa, Chad, Benjamin, Abigail, Allison, Lorilei, Daniel, and Derek, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Zeno Pashia and Anna Lourde (Robart) Pashia; sister, Monica Pashia, and brother, Larry Pashia.
Visitation for Fran was held Sunday, May 4th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Monday, May 5th from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the same location.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 5th at 10 A.M. at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines with Father Vincent Nyman officiating.
Burial and final prayers were held at St. Joachim Cemetery in Old Mines. Serving as pallbearers were Luke Pashia, Dustin Pashia, Dylan Pashia, Ethan Pashia, Dan Wickerham and Bob Whitmoore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society or St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
