Patti Ruth Barnett

Patti Ruth Barnett, born on July 21, 1959 in Bonne Terre, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the age of 65. She was a beloved daughter of the late Burnham and Alma (Kay) Richards and will be deeply missed her family and friends.
Patti was a graduate of Potosi High School, class of 1977, and furthered her education at Mineral Area College, where she earned a degree in Medical Transcribing. Throughout her life, Patti cherished her love for reading. She also loved giving her grandchildren gifts, creating memories that they will always treasure. Patti had a lively spirit, evident from her enjoyment of bingo games with friends, solving crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite shows.
Her passion for farm life and her companionship with her dog, Avery, were significant parts of her everyday happiness. Patti was a previous member of the Potosi United Methodist Church.
Patti leaves behind two sons, Cole Richards (wife, Kara) and Dylan Barnett, as well as five grandchildren, Alexia, Emma, Clayton, Zane, and Taytum Richards. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Jackson; her aunt, Norma Buxton, her uncle, Bob Kay; as well as nieces and nephews.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Burnham and Alma Richards, and two siblings, Doris Ann (Bob) Collins, Jeffrey (Kathy) Richards; and brother-in-law, Bill Jackson.
Patti's kindness, warmth, and spirited nature will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
