Kelly Sue Sparks, born on July 3, 1968, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Kelly was born to the late Robert Amos Mayfield and Audrey (Strauser) Mayfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Farris, along with other dear family members.
In her lifetime, Kelly enjoyed a deep appreciation for music, showcasing an impressive ability to recall both song titles and artists across various genres. She had a creative side and enjoyed painting and art. Kelly was also enjoyed being outdoors; camping, fishing, and exploring a variety of rivers brought her immense joy. Her adventurous spirit extended to travel, where she cherished discovering new places. Kelly delighted in playing cards, gaming, and going to various coffee shops.
Kelly is survived by her loving husband, Ken Sparks Jr.; her stepmother, Carolyn Mayfield; and two siblings, Randy Mayfield and his wife Bridgett, and Daniel Mayfield. She also leaves behind her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Vivian Sparks, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, all who will remember her fondly.
A funeral service for Kelly was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10th at DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating. Burial took place at Horine Cemetery, Richwoods.
Kelly’s legacy of love and passion for life will continue in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and she will be deeply missed. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
