Janet Loeffler

Janet Loeffler, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend passed away peacefully on November 29 2024, in St. Louis. Born on June 26, 1953, in St. Louis, she carried the warmth of her hometown wherever life took her.
Janet was not only known for her thoughtful and generous spirit but also for her unwavering dedication to her career in nursing. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1971, she pursued her passion for helping others at Barnes School of Nursing. With great determination, she furthered her education and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Hannibal LaGrange College. Her dedication to the field led her to work at Newman Clinic in Quincy, Illinois, and later at St. Louis University SSM Hospital, where she devoted herself to her patients until her retirement in June 2018.
A devoted member of the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church, Janet's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy in attending Bible study and was deeply committed to continuously learning God's word. Recently, she took pride in organizing the church’s Thanksgiving Baskets, reflecting her giving nature and her desire to uplift those in her community.
Janet had a love for the outdoors and cherished her vacations by the ocean with her family. These moments created lasting memories that are now etched in the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived by her son, Jason Michael Loeffler, and his wife Edna; her brother, Stanley Douglas Hollinsworth, and his wife Connie; as well as many dear aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were all touched by her kindness and grace.
Janet is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Stanley and Beulah Hollinsworth, and her daughter, Jennifer Loeffler. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember not only her accomplishments but also the love she shared with us all.
A visitation was held on December 5th from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M., followed by a funeral service at 1 P.M. at the DeClue Family Funeral Home in Potosi. As we bid farewell to Janet, may her legacy of love and compassion continue to inspire us to lead lives filled with generosity and kindness.
