David Ferrell

David Ferrell, a beloved figure in his community and cherished family member, passed away on November 19, 2024 at the age of 77. Born on June 7, 1947 in Irondale, David lived a life rich with love, laughter, and
dedication.
David was known for his fun-loving spirit and strong work ethic. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those need, embodying very essence of kindness and compassion. His hobbies included spending cherished moments with his grandchildren, enjoying a drink while listening to country music, cooking delicious meals, and watching wrestling, which brought him immense joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Ruth (Beck) Ferrell and Zellie Ferrell, and his brothers, Charles and Donald Ferrell. David’s legacy continues through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Amanda Porterfield and her husband Paul, residing in Irondale; his two brothers, Lester Ferrell and his wife Marilyn of Hillsboro, and Roger Ferrell and his wife Gerry of Maryland Heights; his sister-in-law Caroline Ferrell; his grandchildren, Emma Pingel and her husband Brendan, and Christopher Porterfield and his partner Summer; his great-grandchildren, Hayden Pingel, Sunny Porterfield, and Clara Sue Porterfield; and his special niece Karen Ferrell.
Additionally, he is remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who hold dear the moments they shared with him.
Visitation for David was held Saturday, November 23rd from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi with the funeral service beginning at 1 P.M. the same day with Bro. Don Dement officiating. Burial and final prayers took place at Big River Cemetery in Irondale. Serving as pallbearers were Paul Porterfield, Christopher Porterfield, Brendan Pingel, Mike Johnson, Jim Conway, and Terry Davis.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
