Glendy Ann Lovelace (nee Cantwell)
November 26, 2024
Glendy Ann Lovelace (nee Cantwell), baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Sunday, November 17, 2024.
Loving wife of the late Kent Alan Lovelace. Beloved mother of Kent (the late Denise) Lovelace, Theresa Jensen and Elizabeth Lovelace. Grandmother of David (Jessica) Lovelace, Jacob Lovelace, Riley Lovelace, Elle Jensen and Eric Jensen. Sister of Catherine (the late Jake) Francka, Abigail (Bob) Bast, the late Harry James (Wilma) Cantwell, Cornelius (Josephine) Cantwell and Jane (Rubin) Faris. Our dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Glendy was born on December 16, 1934 in St. Louis. During her childhood years, she moved to the family farm near Belgrade. She was in the first graduating class of combined Caledonia and Belgrade High School (now known as Valley High School) in 1953. She met her husband, Kent, in the St. Louis Tip Toppers. Glendy worked for Aluminum Industries and later retired after many years of service from the Internal Revenue Service. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Lost Valley Resort, Lake of the Ozarks and Roark Vacation Resort in Branson. Glendy’s hobbies include reading John Grisham novels, bird watching, trips to Lone Elk Park with her grandchildren, going to the casino, and playing cards with her close group of friends. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Glendy was a one-of-a-kind spirit, a wild card who lit up every room she entered. She loved fiercely and without reservation-whether it was her family, friends, or even a stranger in need, she would lend a hand without hesitation. Her laughter was infectious, her heart immense, and her energy unmatched. She will be missed beyond words by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and living life unapologetically will remain forever in our hearts.
Visitation was held at Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Manchester on Saturday, November 23rd from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto on Monday, November 25th at 11 a.m. If desired, contributions may be made to Christ, Prince of Peace. As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
