Shelba Jean Davis

October 23, 2024

Shelba Jean Davis, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and beloved friend, was born on October 5, 1937, in Belgrade. Her journey through life was with an unwavering love for Jesus, her family, and her church. Shelba's vibrant spirit shone through in everything she did, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Tragically, Shelba and her beloved husband, Charles "Bud" Davis, were taken from us too soon in a motor vehicle accident on October 16, 2024. Shelba and Bud had an enduring bond that they shared and a strong faith that guided them throughout their lives.
A committed prayer warrior, Shelba held a special place in the family of Mercy Hill Church in Jackson, where she and Bud were active members. Her involvement did not end there; she was deeply engaged in the women's Bible study group known as "JULS," bringing encouragement and inspiration to those around her. Shelba's generous heart extended to her passion for sewing, where she diligently created items such as blankets, aprons, dolls, and clothes with the intention of providing comfort to those in need. She was proud to contribute to Samaritan's Purse and made it her mission to gift her talents back to others throughout her life.
Shelba possessed a profound love for her family, evident in the way she made each member feel special and appreciated. It was this love that she viewed as her greatest legacy, one she passed down to her children and grandchildren. Shelba is survived by her daughters Debra Teruggi of Fort Meyers, FL, and Donna Shaver (Greg) of Jackson, and Judy Perry (Keith) of Farmington; two stepchildren, Greg Davis and Cindy Davis Wood; and the Davis family who held a special place in her heart; seven grandchildren, Chrystal, Brandy, Amy, Lindsay, Zachary, Alex, and Adam and a beautiful lineage of nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Shelba is also survived by two brothers, Randal Buckley (wife, Judy) and David Buckley; as well as nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
In addition to her living family, Shelba was reunited with her mother, Rosie Pearl Robinson, her husband Bud, son Terry Tullock, great-granddaughter Natalee Rawe, and siblings Robert Summers, Harold Buckley, and Donald Buckley and many other dear relatives.
Outside of her family and church involvement, Shelba found immense joy in the great outdoors. Her love of nature shone through in her skills as an angler, her fondness for camping, and the countless hours spent piecing together jigsaw puzzles.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at DeClue Family Funeral Home in Potosi, followed by a funeral service at 1 P.M. Interment and final prayers were held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials, if so desired, may be made to the Mercy Hill Church Ladies Sewing Group for Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child.
