Carl Ward

Carl Ward, born on April 27, 1954 in St. Louis, passed away on October 16, 2024. Known for his fun-loving spirit, kindness, and caring nature, Carl leaves behind a cherished legacy that will endure through the lives he touched.
Carl is survived by his devoted wife, Vickie Ward, who stood by him through life's many joys and challenges. He leaves behind a daughter, Robin Hammock of Saint Clair,  and a son, Carl Thomas and his wife Glenda of Saint Louis. His legacy continues with his grandchildren, Jacob, Jeffrey (Kelsey), Christian (Brittany), Russell, and Olivia, who will carry forward the values he instilled in them. He also had the pleasure of being a great-grandfather to Jacob, Aubree, Lakelynn, Anni, Emmett, Eli, Juniper, and Jasper, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Laura (Pratt) Ward and Russell Ward, who were instrumental in shaping the person he became.
Carl took immense joy in a variety of hobbies and interests, which defined his vibrant personality. He was an avid musician, spending countless hours playing guitar and sharing his love for music with family friends. In addition, Carl had a talent for detailing cars and was passionate about working on hot rods, activities that filled his life with happiness. Family gatherings were a cornerstone of his existence, where laughter and love abounded. He particularly treasured moments spent with his grandchildren, shaping their lives with his wisdom and warmth.
A graveside service was held Saturday, September 19th at 4 P.M. at New Diggins Cemetery in Mineral Point with Pastor Matt Woods officiating. 
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
