Darrell Castillo

Darrell Christopher Castillo, a devoted family man and hardworking member the construction community, passed away on October 12, 2024 at the age of 62. Born on May 21, 1962, in Farmington, Darrell dedicated many years to his career, notably as a member of Laborers Union Local 42. His work played a significant role in the rebuilding efforts of New Orleans following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, reflecting not only his commitment to his profession but also his dedication to community service.
   He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Castillo; his son, Darrell Castillo Jr., and wife Tousha; five sisters, Anita Patron-Castillo of Roanoke, VA, Nena Seely and husband Bill, Elvina Adams and husband Neal, Lydia Gonzales, and Lisa Todd and husband Wyatt; six brothers, Mitch Castillo and wife Elly, Jerry Castillo and wife Brenda, David Castillo and wife Leanna, Danny Castillo, Donald Castillo and wife Toni, and Brian Castillo; and several beloved grandchildren including Aniyah, Hektor, and Dakota. Darrell was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Castillo; his son, Jeremy Castillo and parents, Jesse and Lena Castillo.
   Darrell was renowned for his robust work ethic and his unwavering dedication to his family. He endured many tragedies in his life such as losing his son, Jeremy, to addiction and his wife, Mary, to cancer. He was a person who deeply valued the time spent with loved ones, taking great joy in simple pleasures such fishing, golfing and spending time with his puppy “Penni Pen”.  He cherished the moments shared with family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by those he leaves behind.
   Visitation was held Friday, October 18th from 2 to 5 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. 
   A memorial service began at 5 P.M. the same day at Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Lloyd Pierce officiating.
   All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
