Jerry Province

Marvin “Jerry” Province, born on February 4, 1936, in Irondale, passed away peacefully on October 11 2024. Jerry, a devoted husband, father, Papa, Great Papa and brother, was known for his hardworking spirit and loving personality, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959, embodying the values of dedication and courage throughout his life. He returned from military service to become a cherished part of his community and an active member of his church. He had a strong faith and enjoyed sharing it all over the world through his mission work.
A man of varied interests, Jerry found joy in fishing and hunting, pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the company of friends and family alike. He was also passionate about keeping bees and bird hunting, demonstrating his love for the outdoors. His greatest pleasure, however, came from spending time with his beloved wife, Bonnie, and their cherished puppies, Pickles and Pepper.
Jerry's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Province, and their daughters, Theresa Brown and her husband Lloyd of Phoenix, AZ, Donna Whitman of Irondale, and Vicki Wallen and her husband Dale, from Hillsboro. He is also remembered by his siblings, LeEtta D'Anthony of Arnold, Glenda Gail Lawson of Potosi, Donna Barron and her husband Gerald of Caledonia, and his brother Walter Province and his wife Shirley of Irondale. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister-in-law, Evelyn Flieg of Perryville, along with grandchildren Jeremy Whitman, Nicole Pickinpaugh and her husband Chase, Valerie Weber and her husband Jason, Jordan Wallen and his wife Olivia, and many great-grandchildren, including Dylan, Austin, Ashton, Phoenix, Haisley, Hudson, Hadley, and Henry. He adored his special niece, LaDonna Nease, and cherished numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Whitman; sisters, Leatha Peyton, Gladys Cone, and Erma Province.
Visitation was held Friday, October 18th from 6 to 9 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Saturday, October 19th from 11 A.M.to 12:30 P.M. with the funeral service taking place at 12:30 P.M. with Rev. Bobbie Brown officiating. 
Burial and final prayers with full Military Honors took place at Big River Cemetery in Irondale. Serving as pallbearers were Jordan Wallen, Jason Weber, Dennis Cone, Steve Peyton, Jerry Peyton and Bobbie Province.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
