Charles Raymond Wiethuchter, 73, of St. Louis, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024 with his family by his side. Born on June 5, 1951 in St. Louis, he was the first born son of the late Charles Raymond Wiethuchter and LaVerne E. Wiethuchter (nee Berwanger). Charles, affectionately known as “Chuck” to friends and family, is survived by his loving wife, Diane “Fuzzy” Wiethuchter (nee Eckhoff). Married January 13, 1969, their union of 55 years was blessed with six children, Dianna Young (Bruce), Catherine DeGunia (William), Christy Ray (Sammy), Chad Wiethuchter, Curt Wiethuchter, and Dan Wiethuchter. His legacy will continues through his adored 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Ralph Wiethuchter (Jerry).
Charles attended St. Francis De Sales School for both his primary and high school education. He began his career at Bettendorf Rapp’s Grocery Store, moved on to Kroger Grocery Stores, and retired from the American National Can Company after many years of dedicated service. A man of the Catholic faith, his beliefs guided him throughout his life. He was known for his fun, loving, energetic, adventurous, and spontaneous personality. Charles was a man of many interests, including woodworking, gardening, hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, biking, boating, auto-mechanic and photography. Each hobby allowed him to connect with nature and share experiences with his family and friends. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. His mantra, “Live Your Life Making Memories, Not Dreams,” will remain a guiding light for all who knew him. Charles’s legacy of love, adventure, and compassion will forever be cherished and remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A service to honor Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Levencia Tate officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Kutis Funeral Home, 2906 Gravois Avenue, St. Louis, Mo. 63118. In remembrance of Chuck, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; c/o Pancreatic Cancer Research.
