Fete de’L Automne is Sun., Oct. 6th at Fertile

The Old Mines Area Historical Society annual Fete will be held Sunday, October 6th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fertile on Hwy. CC.
Stroll the Fete grounds for food, music, crafts and merriment.
Flag raising ceremony begins at 11 A.M.
For the kids, there will be a variety of activities and a story teller who will entertain children and adults at the Noad Boyer Cabin Log Home Museum.
Strollers can also enjoy croquignoles (French pastry), French sausage, hot mulled cider, beans and corn bread, roasted corn on the cob, ice cream and sweets from the French bakery.
Crafters will demonstrate chair caning, spinning, flower wreaths arrangements, how to make brass lamps, blacksmithing, rug weaving and other crafts. The crafters will have assorted items for sale.
The Country Store will be open selling home spun items as well as unique and novel collectibles.
Fyre Lake Winery will be on the grounds offering a variety of tastes to sample.
This year the Fete will honor the Polette/Politte family.
Visit the history display in the one room Maplewood School House.
There will be a cake walk and live music by Dennis Stroughmatt and his Cajun Band, L’Esprit Creole.
Stop by and see pictures of early 1900 relatives and other historic items of the era.
Come enjoy food and fellowship. Free admission and free parking with handicapped accessible shuttle service to the Fete grounds.
The Fete grounds are located in Washington County, Missouri on Highway 21 across from Washington State Park on Highway CC.
