‘24 Trojan Football Homecoming Celebration This Week at P.H.S.

This week is 2024 Football Homecoming and Potosi High School has prepared for its celebration in conjunction with the Potosi Trojans vs. Fredericktown Black Cats football game Friday evening, Sept. 27th at 7 p.m.
The theme for the Trojan Homecoming festivities will be “Destinations: Victory is our Destination.”
Special “Spirit Week” activities are planned by P.H.S. students for each day that week leading up to the big celebration on Friday. Spirit days are as follows:
9/23 - Monday: New York City
(Dress as a Tourist)
9/24 - Tuesday: Texas
(Dress Western)
9/25 - Wednesday: Hawaii
(Beach Day)
9/26 - Thursday: California
(Dress like you’re
from Hollywood)
9/27 - Friday: Purple and Gold Day - Trojans Homecoming Day!
On Friday, the Homecoming Maids of Honor (selected by their respective classes) and the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming Assembly at 8 a.m. that day in the school gymnasium. After the assembly, the Powder Puff game will take place. The Powder Puff game will be held at approximately 9 a.m. at the P.H.S. Football Stadium. The Homecoming Court will ride in the parade through downtown Potosi. The parade begins at approximately 1:30 p.m. with Mrs. Rhonda Phares, retired High School Principal and current School Board President for Potosi High School as Grand Marshall.
The formal Coronation Ceremony will be held that evening at approximately 6:20 p.m. at the P.H.S. Football Stadium prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff of the game.
All community organizations and businesses were welcomed to participate in the parade. Any groups that that wanted to enter a float, truck, etc. should have contacted Kathryn Christopher at Potosi High School (573-438-2156) by Tuesday, September 17th, 2024. All community/city floats and school floats will line up at the Potosi High School this year.
The committee would greatly appreciate Trojan Colors of Purple and Gold decorations by businesses along the parade route. The parade will begin at Potosi High School and proceed up Lead Street and through the downtown area on High Street ending at First State Community Bank.
Students and invited guests will enjoy the Homecoming Dance in the high school’s cafeteria on Saturday, September 28th at 7 P.M. The dance will end at 9 p.m. and concessions will be available for purchase.
