2024 WASHINGTON COUNTY TAX SALE HAD HIGH TEMPS & SEVERAL ‘BUYERS’

August 28, 2024

A large crowd was on hand despite the heat for the Annual Land Tax Sale held by County Collector Kris Richards on the lawn of the Washington County Courthouse starting at approximately 10 a.m. Monday, August 26th. Collector Richards reports 83 properties were sold (liens by bidders). Most of the crowd stayed for most of the two hour sale. Bidding was active throughout the sale prompted by the Auctioneer Billy Pashia’s calling. Overplus total was $75,664.49 on bid amount of $107,299.31. Helping with the sale this year were Auctioneer Billy Pashia, County Trustee Denise Walton and Clerk Pam Blair. There was $27,111.32 paid on taxes for Washington County from this year’s sale. The ‘sale’ puts 2 year (and more) tax properties due up for liens by ‘purchasers’; with a time frame for paperwork, research, notices, etc.
