Mikayla Ann Sherrill
Mikayla Ann Sherrill was born on November 30, 2000 in Festus, a daughter of Dr. Matthew and Sharon (Warren) Sherrill. Mikayla went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, having reached the age of 22.
Mikayla graduated from West County High School, Class of 2019 as Salutatorian. She was very involved while in school. Mikayla was an avid cross-country runner, played both concert band and jazz band, playing clarinet and saxophone. She was an intelligent young lady. Following high school, Mikayla began her journey to become a pharmacist by attending University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, and was on track to graduate in 2025. She was proud to have been recently placed on the Dean’s List. Mikayla currently held a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Pharmaceutical Sciences with emphasis in health humanities. In addition, she was a member of the Kappa Epsilon, a fraternity for pharmaceutical students. Mikayla was always up for an adventure, from zip lining, to para sailing, to roller coasters—she loved having fun. She enjoyed dancing, scary movies, cooking and trying new recipes, the outdoors, hiking and camping, and watching the sunset. She loved her family and they were her biggest fans. Her loving, caring, and fun personality that was so filling, and will be indescribably missed by all who loved and knew her.
Those who remain to forever treasure her memory include her dad and mom, Dr. Matthew and Sharon Sherrill; brother, Michael Sherrill (wife, Summer); sister, Lilian Sherrill; maternal grandparents, Delmar and Vickie Warren; paternal grandparents: David and Judy Sherrill; great grandfather, Rev. Harry White; great grandmother, Doris Swindle; aunts and uncles, Andrew Sherrill, Paul and Sara Sherrill, Julie and Donnie Sutton, Mindy and Tommy Fambrough, and Steven and Crystal Warren; great aunts, great uncles, cousins and extended family.
Mikayla was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Dr. Don Swindle, Alfred and Edna Sherrill, Joyce White, and Henry and Naida Warren and friends.
Visitation was Friday, May 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Saturday, May 20th from 9 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m. held at DeClue Funeral Home. Interment and final prayers followed at Redbud Memorial Gardens.
DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Mikayla.
