Troy Espin King
Troy Espin King of Potosi was born on July 4, 1968 in Potosi, a son to the late Charles M. King Sr. and Mildred J. (Lawson) King. On Monday, May 1, 2023, Troy was ushered by Angels into the presence of the Lord, having reached the age of 54. In addition to Troy's parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles M. King Jr. and many special aunts, uncles and relatives.
Those who remain to treasure his memory include his uncle and aunt, Rev. Joseph "Bud" and Jane Lawson; special cousins, extended family and many dear friends at the Pam Dudley Center.
Troy was a member of Pine Valley Full Gospel Church where he faithfully attended with his mother, Mildred, until just before her passing. Troy loved going to church and attending gospel singings. He absolutely loved his cell phone and watching Scooby Doo. His favorite colors were blue and pink. Troy found such joy in being at the Pam Dudley Center. He made so many friends who loved him and was given so many wonderful opportunities to experience true happiness. Troy had a smile that would fill the room with joy. Troy truly loved his family, especially his uncle Bud. They had had a special bond. Troy will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 8th from 11 A.M. until the time of his funeral service at 1 P.M., held at DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi. Elder Leonard Compton officiated Troy's service. Musical selections were ‘The Old Rugged Cross’, ‘If You Could See Me Now’, ‘Won't it Be Wonderful There’, and ‘He Set Me Free’. Interment followed at Furnace Creek Cemetery beside his parents.
