Rose Marie Morris

Rose Marie Morris of DeSoto, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 87 years. She was born on December 10, 1932 at Old Mines, the daughter of the late Herbert Henry and Lucille Agnes (Politte) Pratt.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Morris, a brother John Pratt, and sisters Bernadette Wall, Doris Burr, Nancy Weiss, Margie Miller and Elaine Baldridge.

Rose Marie was a proud homemaker, a long-time and faithful member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of DeSoto, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Columbian Ann’s. In her free time, she enjoyed visiting the casinos, taking road trips, and listening to music and dancing but her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her two sons Robert (Joanie) Morris of Port St. Lucie, Florida and James Morris of DeSoto, two grandchildren Melissa Risk of St. Louis and Robert (Krista) Morris of St. Louis, brothers Charles (Ann) Pratt of Old Mines and Sylvester “Pill” (Verna) Pratt of Crystal City, sister Carolyn Baugus of DeSoto and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation was held from 5 -8 p.m. on Friday, November 6th at the Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto. The funeral procession departed from the funeral home on Saturday, November 7th at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church celebrated by Father Alexander Anderson. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in DeSoto. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in the form of Masses.
