Kevin Paul Scott

Kevin Paul Scott of Potosi was born on November 1st, 1958, a son to the late Donna Jill (Barton) and Larry Scott. Kevin departed this life on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 having reached the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 2 days.
Kevin was united in marriage to Eleanor (Walter) Scott on August 27th, 1986.

Those left to cherish Kevin’s memory include his wife, Ellie Scott of Potosi; daughters, Jeannette Upchurch of Bonne Terre, Jennifer and husband Richard Boardman of Castle Rock, Colorado, Katelynn Scott of Potosi; sisters, Julia Scott of Potosi, Lisa Gillam and Gary “Buck” DeGonia of Potosi, Michelle and Jimmy Helms of Potosi; two stepbrothers, Blake Wishon and wife Dawn of Cherryville, Kirk Wishon of Farmington; aunt, JoAnn Thebeau of Farmington; Uncle Don and wife Jenny Izett, Sr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five beloved grandchildren, Ella, Harper, Ethan, Maggie, and Kevin in addition to many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Kevin was proceeded in death by his beloved daughter, Kelly Joan (Scott) Griffin; mother and father, Donna Jill (Barton) Scott, Larry Scott and stepmother, Lucy Joan Scott.

Kevin was a proud retired employee of the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked for forty-five years as a welder. Kevin was an active member of the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218 where he had just received a lifetime membership. Kevin enjoyed helping others in need and had a passion for the “Back Pack Program”, aiding children in need. Kevin enjoyed watching western movies, hunting and attending shooting matches. Aside from Kevin’s hobbies, Kevin enjoyed spending every moment possible with his family and friends, especially his five grandchildren. Kevin enjoyed making people happy and laugh. One could say, when Kevin was around there was never a dull moment. Kevin has touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him, although he will be missed, his memories will live on in the hearts of his family and his friends forever.

Visitation for Kevin was held Friday, January 6th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Saturday, January 7th from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 7 at 1PM at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi with Father Rodger Fleming officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at the Scott Family Cemetery in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Helms, Collin Gillam, Jack Politte, Gary Casey, Bill West, Wayne Coleman, Jimmy “Buffer” Moore and Clyde Allen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218 Backpack Program at 2218 State Hwy E, Potosi, MO 63664.
