Donald Gale Sadler
Donald Gale Sadler of Belgrade was born on July 20, 1937 in Blackwell, a son of the late Albert and Sarah (Huitt) Sadler. Gale went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 27, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-five years, three months, and seven days.
On June 15, 1956, Gale was united in marriage to Shirley Ives at Liberty Baptist Church, and they spent over sixty-six years together.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Shirley Sadler; son, David Wayne Sadler; grandchildren, Danielle Sadler, Sarah Sadler, Josh (Katie) Sadler, and Lauren Sadler; great grandchildren, Paige, Kayla, Donte, Sadie, Karsen, Easton, Hallie and Harper; a great-great granddaughter, Regan; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Gale was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Steven Sadler; siblings, Walter Sadler, Lyman Sadler, Alice Mary Aubuchon, Marie Daugherty, and Raymond Sadler.
Gale enjoyed life. From farming, fishing, hunting and being outdoors, he always enjoyed working on machines. Gale retired from Doe Run Company. After retirement, Gale worked for Heisel Rental and Rippie's Tractors. Gale always stayed busy doing some sort of work. Gale was well liked and never met a stranger. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Belgrade for many years where he previously served as a Deacon as well as caring for the church cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, October 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi. Visitation continued on Monday, October 31st from 9 to 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Belgrade.
A funeral service followed the visitation at Liberty Baptist on Monday, October 31st at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Devin Haus, assisted by Pastor Harry White. Interment followed at Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
