Dorothy Diane Courtois, lovingly known as “Dot” was born on February 10, 1949 to Eli “Phonso” and Marie (Portell) Robart. Diane grew up in Cadet, Missouri. She attended St. Joachim School until transferring to Potosi High School through her senior year.

Diane was a proud member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church. She was active in adult Bible study, Sunday School and volunteering in various ministries. Diane also enjoyed activities at the Sayers Senior Center and the Red Hat Ladies. Diane loved going to auctions, yard sales and flea markets. She found so much joy in cooking large meals for birthdays and holidays. Diane loved to spend time with each of her grandchildren and children. Her family was her life. Diane loved music, dancing, shopping and being with her family, attending grandchildren’s school and sporting events and close friends.

Diane instilled a strong work ethic in her children. She was a widow at the age of 35, raising three children by herself until they were all graduated and married. Diane had an infectious smile and laugh and never complained about any situation. She found the joy in all situations.

Diane was a true servant. Not just caring for her children and grandchildren, but in the past 30 years she also worked as a private caregiver. She assisted many Potosi residents both day and night with personal and medical needs. She has touched countless families through her service.

Diane went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 2, 2022 surrounded by her family at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 23 days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her three loving and devoted children: Scott Jamison Courtois and wife Michelle, Eric Lee Courtois and wife Rachel and Jamie Lee Knapp and husband Jarrod Knapp.  Diane was a very proud grandma to her eleven grandchildren: Kaleb Courtois (Saige), Miley Courtois, Wyatt, Emmy and Owen Knapp, Brennon, Brody and Avery Courtois and Haley, Ethan and Leigha Blankenship. Diane also leaves behind three brothers: James Robart, Eddie Jo Robart and Gary Robart and wife Donna; niece and nephew; Nichole Robart and Justin Robart; and special aunts Susie (Portell) Bayless and Betty (Portell) Bone.
