James Thurman III

James Roy Thurman III of Cadet, was born June 26, 1962 in St. Louis, a son to Ramona (Bennett) Thurman and the late James Roy Thurman, Jr. James departed this life Wednesday, October 21, 2020 having reached the age of 58 years, 3 months and 25 days.

James is survived by his loving mother, Ramona; daughter, Sonya Hahn and husband Sam of Park Hills; son, James Thurman IV and wife Heather of Cadet; brother, Mitchell Thurman and wife Mary of Cadet; sister, Grady Virginia Binz and husband Don of Imperial; four grandchildren, Emma, Holden, Ben and Harper; dear and special friend, Tina Reed and many other relatives and friends.

James was an avid outdoorsman, taking every opportunity to go hunting, fishing and boating. Being on the river brought him great joy. When he wasn’t outside, he was with friends and family shooting pool. His family was his pride and joy and he cherished every minute he spent with them. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Visitation for James was held Saturday, October 24th from 10 A.M.- 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 24th at 1 P.M. with Pastor John Jones officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at the Daugherty Family Cemetery in Cadet . Serving as pallbearers were Drew Mayberry, Sam Hahn, Mitchell Thurman Sr., Mitchell Thurman Jr., Rocky Dean and Junior Ward.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
