Evening Parade . . . Potosi Christmas Parade THURSday, December 2ND

The Washington County / Potosi Chamber of Commerce Parade Committee has announced that the annual City of Potosi/Chamber Christmas Shopping Season Opening Parade is scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Thursday, Dec. 2nd thru Downtown Potosi. The theme is ‘Missouri’s Bicentennial Christmas’.

The line of march of the seasonal event will assemble at Casey Farm Road and proceed onto East High Street travel West through Downtown to South Mine and disband at the P.H.S. parking lot.

Participants will need to enter Casey Farm Road from Purcell Drive to be headed in the right direction for line up. Be there by 5:30 P.M. if you intend to participate.

During the parade line up, streets in the immediate area of the parade will be closed.

No pre-registration is required.

The Committee is inviting all area churches, service clubs and organizations and businesses to participate by entering a float or walking contingent. No Santas Please- He is already scheduled for a regular visit.

There are two categories for float entries - Religious and Commercial/Civic. Cash prizes will be awarded with $100 for First; $50 for Second and $25 for Third place in both categories.

The Chamber greatly appreciates participation in the past and is looking forward to another successful Christmas Parade with continued good help and cooperation.

Motorized vehicles taking part in the annual parade must be covered by Liability Insurance and have Licensed Drivers. Participation is at the organizers’ discretion.
