Mrs. Amos Tedder Dies

In St. Louis Mar. 19

Martha I. (Mattie) Tedder died in a hospital in St. Louis Sunday, March 19. She was born Feb. 22, 1875. She was married to Amos Tedder at the age of 18 years with whom she lived a pleasant married life. Mrs. Tedder and her husband lived in Washington County a large part of their early lives, but for the last 25 years they have resided in St. Louis. Several years were spent at Belgrade where Mr. Tedder was a rural mail carrier. They also lived on a farm on Clear Creek and spent several years in Irondale. They were parents of three children: Edna, who died at the age of 6, and Carson Tedder and Mrs. Virginia Munn both of St. Louis. She was converted in early life and took an active interest in church as her environment permitted. She was a true and faithful wife and a loving mother. She is survived by her husband, two children, two sisters, Mrs. Orville Yount of Irondale and Mrs. Hattie Bridger of St. Charles and one grandson, Byron Robinson. A sister Mrs. Mary Glenn died in Pittsburgh, Penn. a few months ago.

The remains of Mrs. Tedder were shipped to Boyer Funeral Home at Leadwood and funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Thos. Howell from the Irondale Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was in the Big River cemetery at Irondale.
