Robert Louis Brooks

Robert Louis Brooks of Cadet, was born on February 18, 1946 in Washington, Missouri, a son to the late Robert Eugene and Florence (Sandow) Brooks. Bob, as most knew him by, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Mercy Hospital-South, having reached the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 15 days.

On May 7, 2014, Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Nixon and they shared 7 years of life and love together. Bob along with his wife Sue, attended Hopewell Church of God, was a member of VFW Post 6996, served on the Honor Guard for military funeral services, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Farmington, and was a past member of the American Legion.

Bob proudly served his county in the United States Army from October 24, 1966 to May 31, 1969. Bob served in the Vietnam War. During his service, Bob received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sue Nixon Brooks; eight children; Robert Brooks and Fiancé Angela, Michael (Annie) Brooks, Tom Ward, Shannon Ward, Jeremy (Michelle) Ward, Tammy (Danielle) Ward, Twanna Ward, Richelle (Christopher) Bandy; fourteen grandchildren; Steven, Justin, Kelsey, Dre, Jagger, Payten, Cody, Justice, Connor, Collin, Corrine, Ethan, Geneva and William; four great grandchildren; Aurora, Hope, Declan and Mason; sister, Mary Schultz; and dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Memorial Service for Bob will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11 A.M. at VFW Post 6996. A luncheon will follow the service at the hall. Bob will receive military funeral honors presented by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 6996.
