POTOSI R-3 ALUMNI AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS

POTOSI R-3 ALUMNI AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS – The 2021 edition of the All School Reunion for Potosi was held on Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th, 2021 at the Potosi R-3 campus in Potosi. The Alumni group paused here to award to checks for scholarship to Ms. Hallie Portell and Mr. Jordan Browne (at center). Representing the Potosi Alumni, from left were, Judy Coffman, Brenda West, scholarship winners Hallie Portell and Jordan Browne, Helen Franklin, Pam Jones and Linda Haguewood. The alumni group usually meets about half a dozen times to organize and prepare for the weekend gathering. Last year’s reunion didn’t happen after being planned twice - once for Summer and then again for Fall. While the expectations this year weren’t clear for all, there turned out to be approximately 100 alumni in attendance at the dinner on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Classes from the 1950’s to the 1980’s were represented with several from the Class of 1961, Class of 1976 and the Class of 1959. The evening was enjoyed by all and the group had time during the afternoon tea and the dinner to visit and catch up on times gone by. A delicious meal was prepared by Carol Jacobsen and her help. The Potosi R-3 School District were again great hosts for the weekend with use of the buildings and grounds provided for the many Potosi High School graduates. Love Purple - Live Gold!
