City/ County I.D.A. Offices Home For Missouri Job Center

The Washington County Industrial Development Authority now provides office space for the Missouri Job Center – Affiliate Office, Potosi, (MJC) located at 501 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664.

Washington County Industrial Development Authority would like to remind the public of the new location of the Missouri Job Center – Affiliate Office, Potosi. The office relocated to 501 East High Street, Potosi, MO in early 2020 just as the COVD-19 pandemic began and shortly after, the State shut down public access to the Missouri Job Centers. As restrictions are lifted, the office is now open to the public.

http://www.jobs.mo.gov is the direct access for programs for Job Seekers – File an unemployment claim, seek job fairs, search jobs, training options, etc., Employers – post jobs to Mo.jobs, participate in virtual job fairs, recruitment, incentives, business resources, etc., and the Community – for access to the Missouri Workforce System, Certified Work Ready Communities, Missouri Workforce Development Board, etc.

The Potosi office offers “Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) which provides the opportunities for workers and learners to obtain the necessary foundation skills necessary for the 21st century jobs and foster a modern workforce that can compete in a global economy.”

WIOA Youth is a federally funded program built to empower youth and foster a modern workforce. Services offered are: Assistance with High School Equivalency, Paid Work Experience ($10/hr+), Leadership Development, Job Skills Training, Workplace Success/Career Management, Resume Building, College Assistance, Financial Literacy & more.
