Virginia “Lee Ann” Mathis

Virginia “Lee Ann” Mathis of Roodhouse, Illinois, was born on April 25, 1949, in St. Louis, MO, a daughter to the late Jacob Levi and Virginia (Morris) Elliott. Lee Ann passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 having reached the age of seventy-two years, one month and eight days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her five children, Andrew (Angela) Mathis, Charlotte Skaggs, Kevin (Angela) Mathis, Dana (Becca) Williams, and Terry Mathis; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother, Albert (Lisa) Elliott; special cousin, Linda Weida; special aunt, Pat Sherman. Lee Ann is also survived by extended family and friends.

Lee Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Virginia Elliott; husband, Alan Mathis; siblings, Kenny Elliott, Grace Conrad, Brad Elliott, David Elliott, Jacob Elliott II.

A visitation was held on Friday, June 4th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home.

A funeral service was held on Friday, June 4th at 2 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home with Bro. David Sutton officiating. Interment followed at New Diggins Cemetery in Mineral Point.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
