Spring Forward, Fall Back - Daylight Savings Time 2021 Starts on March 14

March 03, 2021

People in our area will join those all across the country Sunday, March 14th at 2 A.M. as the time on clocks is advanced one hour to begin the annual observance of Daylight Savings Time.

Daylight Savings Time was lengthened a few years ago with three more weeks added at the start of the year and one additional week at the close. Some twenty or so years ago three weeks were added in the Spring.

Standard Time has been in effect all Winter since Nov. 1st, 2020.

It is suggested that residents set their clocks ahead before going to bed Saturday night and then get up on Sunday on the new schedule. Time has also been added in the Fall to lengthen Daylight Savings Time. The final day will be Saturday, Nov. 6th, 2021.

The annual time change gives citizens an hour more of daylight to enjoy life after getting home from the daily grind as the shift forward uses the early morning hours which would normally have been spent by most people sleeping.

Daylight Savings Time is welcomed by many as they use the extra hour for gardening, yard work, etc. while others among us pretend not to like it at all.

DON’T FORGET, MOVE THE TIME AHEAD 1 HOUR!!!

Spring Forward - Fall Back!
