From April 2, 1970 Edition James Andrew Thompson Rites Conducted

Mr. James Andrew Thompson of 803 North Mine Street, Potosi, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 1970 at the Washington County Hospital. He was born in Reynolds County, Missouri on January 3, 1883, the son of the late Joseph and Winnie (Johnson) Thompson. He was 87 years, 2 months, and 22 days of age at the time of his death.

Mr. Thompson was married to Martha Belle Hedrick in Reynolds County on April 18, 1939. To this union seven children were born. His wife preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 1969. Also he was preceded in death by two children.

Mr. Thompson is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Gladys (Jim) Breakfield of Potosi; and Mrs. Freda DeClue of Eldon, Missouri; Three sons: Oren and Arnold Thompson of Potosi, and Otis Thompson of Ellis Grove, Illinois; Three brothers, Sam Thompson, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Henry of Salem, MO., and Sparrow Thompson of Millsprings, MO.; Two sisters, Pina, Mrs. Austin Marler of Rt. 1, Mineral Point, and Dephia Bollingee of St. Louis. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted from the Don Sparks Funeral Home in Potosi on Saturday, Mar. 28, at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ernest Swartz officiating. Interment was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi with Don Sparks Funeral Home in charge of all arrange.
