Charity Programs Continue For Kids . . . Christmas For Kids Auction Potosi Elks Christmas Charity

While most all are familiar with both local programs that support our children at Christmas, many may wonder what will happen with it all this year.

Right now, the Christmas For Kids Auction is working on wrapping up as the group went to an online approach using Facebook as the medium. It will work well for some and unfortunately others won’t catch it on the internet.

The Potosi Elks Lodge, at this time, are planning a live charity auction on Sat., Dec. 5th at 7 p.m. with some different requirements. Word has gone out through newsletter and social media, and now here, that reserved seats are required. The Elks are reserving tables for groups. Tables of eight are a $100 donation for the reservation. A floor plan has been drawn up that encourages social distancing and puts an ‘open table’ between each table of seats. For table reservations and more information, individuals are asked to contact Kris Richards at 573-210-7986. At this printing approximately half of the seating has been reserved.

Another change to the evening will be no ‘Steak Night’. The dinner typically is held before the Auction and is a good fund raiser as well for the Christmas Charity.

To donate to the Christmas For Kids program, contact Life Church who is in charge this year, at 573-438-5433. The Christmas For Kids program provides gifts for children in need during the Christmas season.

To donate to the Potosi Elks Christmas Charity Program, contact Randy Eaton at 438-5121 or Kris Richards at 210-7986 or 438-5141. The Potosi Elks work with the community to provide clothes, shoes and necessary items for our County’s youth. The Potosi Elks also support the Back Pack Program through the Christmas Charity throughout the school year.

Thank you to the community for all the support for both of these projects. The only reason either is successful is because of the support from the public and the business community.
