Potosi Cross Country Girls Team To State

After a week of rain, the sun finally came out just in time for the District Cross Country Meet on Saturday, October 31st in Arcadia Valley.

The top seven boys and girls from P.H.S. competed in the Class 3 District 1 Meet and left with a District Title and nine state qualifiers.

The Potosi Girls Team battled to the end and captured the title defeating strong Herculaneum and Lutheran South teams.

Team scores were Potosi 40, Herky 47, Lutheran South 58, Dexter 104, Ste. Gen 111, Kelly 162.

The Potosi Boys Team packed up and gave it their all just narrowly missing a berth at the State Meet.
Team scores were Herky 45, Ste. Gen 75, Potosi 83, Lutheran South 89, Dexter 115, Fredericktown 144, Kelly 177, Hancock 186.

Six Trojans earned All-District honors by placing in the top 15.

All-District runners for the girls were Celeste Sansegraw 2nd, Gracie Schutz 6th, Alyson Skiles 7th, and Carlee Moss 9th.

All-District boys were Zeke Sisk 12th and Will Jarvis 15th. The rest of the boys finished with Jaden Kanan 17th, Garrett Hale 18th, Tanner Gibson 21st and Connor Gibson 22nd and Andy Cain 23rd.

Traveling Thursday to the State Meet held at the Gans Creek Course in Columbia will be the Girls Team comprised of Senior Hallie Portell, Sophomores Celeste Sansegraw, Gracie Schutz, Kaydence Gibson, Emily Hochstatter, and Freshmen Alyson Skiles, and Carlee Moss.

Also traveling to Columbia, from the Boys Team, Senior Will Jarvis and Freshman Zeke Sisk.
