Services Held

Funeral services were conducted last Saturday, March 19, in Desloge, for Mr. Oscar Meadows of Potosi, who died on March 16 in Bonne Terry Hospital. He was 61 years old.

Mr. Meadows, son of the late Isaac D. and Carrie Lindsey Meadows, was born in Desloge on October 14, 1898. On November 25, 1922, he was married to Ima Georgia Turley, who preceded him in heath on July 27, 1956.

To this union three children were born: Helen (Mrs. Robert Pfeiffer), of St. Louis; Dorothy Ann (Mrs. Edward Barger), St. Louis; and Robert F., also of St. Louis.

On August 8, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lillian G. Freeman, who survives.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Susanne Barger and Joyce Ann and Robby Meadows; one stepdaughter, Ruth (Mrs. Charles Reed), together with three step-grandchildren, Linda, Allen and Brent Reed; one brother, Alvin R. Meadows, of Parkville, Mo.; two sister, Faustine (Mrs. Emerson Colson), of Desloge; and Ferol (Mrs. Clyde Burns), of Bonne Terre; and other relatives; two brothers, Marvin W. and Forrest Glenwood, preceded him in death.

For 48 years Mr. Meadows was employed by the St. Joseph Lead Company, the only company for which he ever worked. He began work with them at the age of 13.

He was a member of the Desloge Baptist Church for a number of years, and his membership was in the Potosi Baptist Church at the time of his death. He was also a member of Ionic Lodge, A.F. A.M. No. 154, of Desloge.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Desloge, under the direction of Boyer and Son Funeral Directors. Rev. J. Purd Hays officiated assisted by Rev. J. R. Wagoner. Burial was in the Desloge Cemetery.
