Phillip Cook

Phillip Edward Cook of Cadet, was born November 23, 1956 in Hopewell, a son to the late Allen Joseph Cook, Jr. and Emma Lou (Lawson) Cook. Phillip departed this life Thursday, October 22, 2020 having reached the age of 63 years, 10 months and 29 days.

On June 13, 1981, Phillip was united in marriage to Mary (Link) Cook and they were blessed with thirty-nine years together.

Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Tanya Wood and husband Les of Mineral Point, Niki Politte of Alton, Illinois; brothers, William Cook of Mineral Point, David Cook of Potosi, Donald Cook of Potosi, Benny Downard and wife Jamie of Caledonia; sisters, Colleen Warden and husband Ralph of Cadet, Margie Goodson and husband Johnny Ray of Palmer; mother-in-law Virginia Link of Potosi; six grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents Phillip was preceded in death by his brothers, Ervin Cook, Allen “A.J.” Cook, Jeffrey Cook, Raymond Downard; sisters, Vivian, Marlene and Marquitta and sister-in-law, Lydia Cook.

Phillip was a kind and caring person, always helping others in their time of need. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles and loved fixing them up and putting them back on the road. He also took many hunting and fishing trips with friends and family. Above everything else, he loved his family with all his heart and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Visitation for Phillip was held Sunday, October 25th from 11 A.M.-1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 25th at 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home with Bro. Leonard Compton officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at the Cook Family Cemetery in Mineral Point. Serving as pallbearers were Les Wood, Earl Cook, Mark Montgomery, David Cook, Benny Downard and Desiree Link.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
